Beatriz Fernández Aucejo

Spanish orchestra conductor, considered one of the most talented of her generation. Among Beatriz’s recent achievements, her brilliant and outstanding performance at the 2022 edition of the “La Maestra” Conducting Competition stands out, where she was awarded Third Prize as well as the ARTE Prize.

Bio

As an active member of the “La Maestra” Academy at the Philharmonie de Paris, she has received guidance, masterclasses, and opportunities to assist distinguished conductors such as François-Xavier Roth, Klaus Mäkelä, Tugan Sokhiev, Semyon Bychkov, Kirill Karabits, David Reiland, Case Scaglione, and Lin Liao. She has collaborated with ensembles including the Orchestre National de Metz Grand Est, Orchestre National d’Île-de-France, Ensemble Intercontemporain, Orchestre de Paris, Orchestre du Capitole de Toulouse, Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, Gürzenich Orchester Köln, among others. She is currently a fellow of the Taki Alsop Conducting Fellowship within the Mentoring Program led by Marin Alsop.

She studied with Joshard Daus (University of Mainz), Peter Gülke (Mozarteum University), Michel Tabachnik (Accademia Musicale Chigiana), and completed postgraduate studies in contemporary repertoire with Arturo Tamayo (Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana). She has also participated in the Riccardo Muti Italian Opera Academy and the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence Academy. In recent years, she has been mentored and advised by Juanjo Mena, and has worked closely with Alondra de la Parra, Roberto Forés, and Miguel Romea.

She has conducted the Orquesta de Valencia, Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya, Bilbao Orkestra Sinfonikoa, ADDA Simfònica, Orquesta de la Comunitat Valenciana, Orquesta Filarmónica de Gran Canaria, Orquesta de Extremadura, Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León, Orquesta de Córdoba, Orquestra Simfònica de les Illes Balears, Paris Mozart Orchestra, Orquesta Filarmónica de Málaga, Orquesta Sinfónica de la Región de Murcia, Orquesta Sinfónica de Navarra, and the Orchestre Démos National Paris-Marseille.

A highlight of her career is the recording for the prestigious international television channel Arte Concert TV of her performance with the Paris Mozart Orchestra in the main hall of the Philharmonie de Paris–Cité de la Musique.

She was the recipient of the Isabel Ferrer Prize from the Generalitat Valenciana in 2015.

Her recent debut with the Orquesta Nacional de España is particularly noteworthy, and upcoming engagements for the next season include the Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla, the Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya, the San Diego Symphony Orchestra, the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, the Sinfónica de Tenerife, the Orquesta de Valencia, among others, as well as projects in South Korea, Mexico, and France.
